Create Access List elements

You can use Access List elements as a Matching Condition in a Route Map element. You can also use certain Access Lists in BGP Peering elements.

Steps

  1. Select Configuration.
  2. Browse to Other Elements > Dynamic Routing Elements.
  3. Right-click the type of Access List that you want to create, then select New <Access List>.
  4. Enter a name in the Name field.
  5. (For Community Access Lists and Extended Community Access Lists) To use regular expressions for the Community name, in the Type field, select Expanded.
  6. To add a row to the table, click Add, then fill in the details for the row.
  7. (Optional) To reorder the table, select a row, then click Up or Down.
    The rows are processed from top to bottom.
  8. (Optional) To remove a row, select the row, then click Remove.
  9. Click OK.

IP Access List Properties dialog box

Use this dialog box to create an IP Access List.

Option Definition
Name The name of the element.
Subnet

Enter the subnet to use.

To select an element that represents a subnet, right-click the cell, then select Select.

Action The action when there is a match:
  • Permit — Uses the permit action.
  • Deny — Uses the deny action.
Comment An optional comment for your own reference.
Add Adds a row.
Remove Removes the selected row.
Up Moves the row up in the list.
Down Moves the row down in the list.
Comment An optional comment for your own reference.
Category Shows the assigned category. Click Select to include the element in predefined categories.

IP Prefix Access List Properties dialog box

Use this dialog box to create an IP Prefix Access List.

Option Definition
Name The name of the element.
Prefix/Mask The prefix or mask to use for matching. To use an element that represents a network or host, right-click the cell, then select Select.
Minimum Mask Length The minimum length of the mask.
Maximum Mask Length The maximum length of the mask.
Action The action when there is a match:
  • Permit — Uses the permit action.
  • Deny — Uses the deny action.
Comment An optional comment for your own reference.
Add Adds a row.
Remove Removes the selected row.
Up Moves the row up in the list.
Down Moves the row down in the list.
Comment An optional comment for your own reference.
Category Shows the assigned category. Click Select to include the element in predefined categories.

Community Access List Properties dialog box

Use this dialog box to create a Community Access List.

Option Definition
Name The name of the element.
Type Select Expanded to use regular expressions.

Community

(If the Type is Standard)

Enter the community number.

Community Regular Expression

(If the Type is Expanded)

Enter the community number. You can use regular expressions.
Action The action when the expression matches:
  • Permit — Uses the permit action.
  • Deny — Uses the deny action.
Add Adds a row.
Remove Removes the selected row.
Up Moves the row up in the list.
Down Moves the row down in the list.
Comment An optional comment for your own reference.
Category Shows the assigned category. Click Select to include the element in predefined categories.

Extended Community Access List Properties dialog box

Use this dialog box to create an Extended Community Access List.

Option Definition
Name The name of the element.
Type Select Expanded to use regular expressions.
Type column

(If the Type is Standard)

Select the type:
  • Route Target (RT) — Uses the route-target attribute.
  • Site of Origin (SOO) — Uses the soo attribute.
Community

(If the Type is Standard)

Enter the extended community number.
Community Regular Expression

(If the Type is Expanded)

Enter the extended community number. You can use regular expressions.
Action The action when the expression matches:
  • Permit — Uses the permit action.
  • Deny — Uses the deny action.
Add Adds a row.
Remove Removes the selected row.
Up Moves the row up in the list.
Down Moves the row down in the list.
Comment An optional comment for your own reference.
Category Shows the assigned category. Click Select to include the element in predefined categories.

AS Path Access List Properties dialog box

Use this dialog box to create an AS Path Access List.

Option Definition
Name The name of the element.
AS Path Expression The AS path expression.
Action The action when the expression matches:
  • Permit — Uses the permit action.
  • Deny — Uses the deny action.
Add Adds a row.
Remove Removes the selected row.
Up Moves the row up in the list.
Down Moves the row down in the list.
Comment An optional comment for your own reference.
Category Shows the assigned category. Click Select to include the element in predefined categories.
