Engine configuration overview

Configuring Firewalls, IPS engines, and Layer 2 Firewalls consists of several general procedures.

1. Install a license for the engine.
2. Create an engine element and define the basic properties.
3. Configure the engine’s interfaces.
4. Configure the routing.
5. Generate the initial configuration for the engine and use it to establish a connection between the engine and the Management Server.
6. Install a policy on the engine.
