Change logging options for Sidewinder Proxies
Sidewinder Logging Profiles define which events detected by Sidewinder Proxies create log entries, and how often log entries are created.
If the settings in the default Sidewinder Logging Profile element meet your needs, there is no need to create a custom Sidewinder Logging Profile element.

Steps
- Select Configuration.
- Browse to .
- Right-click Sidewinder Logging Profiles, then select New Sidewinder Logging Profile.
- In the Name field, enter a unique name.
- Select logging options for Situation Categories or individual Situations.
- Click OK.
Sidewinder Logging Profile Properties dialog box
Use this dialog box to define which events detected by SSM Proxies are logged, and how often logs are created.
Option | Definition |

Name | Specifies a unique name for the Sidewinder Logging Profile element. |
Comment | Adds a comment for your own reference. |
Search | Opens a search field. |

Name | Shows the names of the Situation Category elements and Situation elements for which you can configure logging options. |
Severity | Shows the severity value of the Situation element. |
Log Frequency | Shows how often logs are created when the Situation is detected. Clicking opens a drop-down list.

Overrides | Indicates Situation Categories for which logging options have been changed. |
Select Log Frequency dialog box
Use this dialog box to select how often logs are created for individual Situation elements for Sidewinder Proxy.

Override Default Settings | When selected, activates the settings and overrides the settings defined in the Sidewinder Logging Profile. |
Log Frequency |

Level | Shows the log level of the log entry that is created. |
Log | The number of occurrences to log in the specified interval. |
Every | The interval during which to limit logging. Select the time period from the drop-down list. |
