Create Access List elements

You can use Access List elements as a Matching Condition in a Route Map element. You can also use certain Access Lists in BGP Peering elements.

Steps

  1. Select Configuration.
  2. Browse to Other Elements > Dynamic Routing Elements.
  3. Right-click the type of Access List that you want to create, then select New <Access List>.
  4. Configure the settings, then click OK.

IP Access List Properties dialog box

Use this dialog box to create an IP Access List.

Option Definition
Name The name of the element.
IP Access List table

Click Add to add a row to the table, or Remove to remove the selected row. Click Up or Down to move the selected item up or down. The rows are processed from top to bottom.

Subnet

Enter the subnet to use.

To select an element that represents a subnet, right-click the cell, then select Select.

Action The action when there is a match:
  • Permit — Uses the permit action.
  • Deny — Uses the deny action.
Comment

(Optional)

A comment for your own reference.
Category

(Optional)

Includes the element in predefined categories. Click Select to select a category.

IP Prefix Access List Properties dialog box

Use this dialog box to create an IP Prefix Access List.

Option Definition
Name The name of the element.
IP Prefix List table

Click Add to add a row to the table, or Remove to remove the selected row. Click Up or Down to move the selected item up or down. The rows are processed from top to bottom.

Prefix/Mask The prefix or mask to use for matching. To use an element that represents a network or host, right-click the cell, then select Select.
Minimum Mask Length The minimum length of the mask.
Maximum Mask Length The maximum length of the mask.
Action The action when there is a match:
  • Permit — Uses the permit action.
  • Deny — Uses the deny action.
Comment

(Optional)

A comment for your own reference.
Category

(Optional)

Includes the element in predefined categories. Click Select to select a category.

Community Access List Properties dialog box

Use this dialog box to create a Community Access List.

Option Definition
Name The name of the element.
Type Select Expanded to use regular expressions.
Community Access List table

Click Add to add a row to the table, or Remove to remove the selected row. Click Up or Down to move the selected item up or down. The rows are processed from top to bottom.

Community

(When Type is Standard)

Enter the community number.
Community Regular Expression

(When Type is Expanded)

Enter the community number. You can use regular expressions.
Action The action when there is a match:
  • Permit — Uses the permit action.
  • Deny — Uses the deny action.
Comment

(Optional)

A comment for your own reference.
Category

(Optional)

Includes the element in predefined categories. Click Select to select a category.

Extended Community Access List Properties dialog box

Use this dialog box to create an Extended Community Access List.

Option Definition
Name The name of the element.
Type Select Expanded to use regular expressions.
Extended Community Access List table

Click Add to add a row to the table, or Remove to remove the selected row. Click Up or Down to move the selected item up or down. The rows are processed from top to bottom.

Type

(When Type is Standard)

Select the type:
  • Route Target (RT) — Uses the route-target attribute.
  • Site of Origin (SOO) — Uses the soo attribute.
Community

(When Type is Standard)

Enter the extended community number.
Community Regular Expression

(When Type is Expanded)

Enter the extended community number. You can use regular expressions.
Action The action when there is a match:
  • Permit — Uses the permit action.
  • Deny — Uses the deny action.
Comment

Category

(Optional)

AS Path Access List Properties dialog box

Use this dialog box to create an AS Path Access List.

Option Definition
Name The name of the element.
AS Path Access List table

Click Add to add a row to the table, or Remove to remove the selected row. Click Up or Down to move the selected item up or down. The rows are processed from top to bottom.

AS Path Expression The AS path expression.
Action The action when there is a match:
  • Permit — Uses the permit action.
  • Deny — Uses the deny action.
