DNS relay configuration overview

To use DNS relay, you must configure settings for the firewall in the Management Client, and configure clients in your network environment.

Follow these general steps to set up DNS relay:

  1. (Optional) Create a DNS Relay Profile element.
  2. Define DNS IP addresses for the firewall in the Engine Editor.
  3. Configure DNS Relay options for the firewall in the Engine Editor.
  4. In your internal network environment, configure devices to use the selected listening IP addresses on the firewall as a DNS resolver.
