Create Geolocation elements

A Geolocation represents the physical location of a network element. When you create a Geolocation, select the elements that belong to it.

Steps

  1. Select Configuration, then browse to Administration.
  2. Browse to Other Elements > Geolocations.
  3. Right-click Geolocations, then select New Geolocation.
  4. Enter the Name and Address.
  5. To define the Coordinates, select an option:
    • To automatically resolve the Geolocation coordinates, click Resolve from Address.
    • Enter the Latitude and Longitude in Decimal Degrees format (for example, latitude 49.5000° and longitude -123.5000°).
  6. Click the Content tab, then select the elements that belong to the Geolocation.
  7. Click OK.

Use this dialog box to define the properties of a Geolocation.

General tab
Name The name of the element.
Address section
Street Address Enter the street address.
City Enter the city.
Postal Code Enter the postal code.
State/Region Enter the state/region.
Country Enter the country.
Coordinates section
Latitude Enter the latitude in decimal degree format (for example, latitude 49.5000° and longitude -123.5000°).
Longitude Enter the longitude in decimal degree format (for example, latitude 49.5000° and longitude -123.5000°).
Resolve from Address Automatically resolves the Geolocation coordinates.
Comment

(Optional)

A comment for your own reference.
Option Definition
Content tab
Resources pane. You can drag and drop elements from this pane.
Search Opens a search field for the selected element list.
Up Navigates up one level in the navigation hierarchy. Not available at the top level of the navigation hierarchy.
Tools
  • New — Opens the associated dialog box to create an element.
  • Show Deleted Elements — When selected, elements that have been moved to the Trash are visible.
Content Shows the selected elements. Click Add to add an element to the list, or Remove to remove the selected element.
